Success Stories

Mr S R - Dallas , Texas, USA
Hba1c from 6.7% to 5.1% in 4 months
Mr. S.R. contacted me in February 2025, seeking a non-medication approach to manage his Type 2 Diabetes.
His HbA1c was 6.7% in November 2024, and he was advised to begin Metformin along with lifestyle changes.
I created a low-carb plan and he responded very well.
Even while in the U.S., his glucometer readings showed consistent improvement, and by the end of February 2025, he had stopped Metformin on his own.
Recently, while visiting India, he underwent comprehensive lab tests and the results were outstanding:
His HbA1c is now 5.1%, well into the non-diabetic range.
Additional benefits:
Lost 11 pounds
Lost inches off the waist
Feels more energetic and motivated
No more craving for sugary stuff
Plans to stay committed to the low-carb lifestyle
He still has some weight to lose and a few other markers to optimize, based on his latest labs but he's on the right track.

Mr Sanjay - India

11th May 2025: HbA1c – 6.1%
All this — without a single medication. Just the power of correct nutrition.
Mr. Sanjay won the war against Type 2 Diabetes.

Mr Shah - Mumbai
Hba1c from 10.7% to 7.4% in 2 months - CKD case
Mr. Shah was referred to me by an earlier client.
He was struggling with high blood sugars and rising creatinine levels.
He was tired of taking so many medications, including insulin. His future seemed bleak, and he was afraid he would progress to dialysis. His creatinine was over 3.
I put him on a low-carb diet with protein adjusted to his kidney function recommendations.
Although he had been advised to follow a low-protein diet, he agreed to follow my recommendations.
His results are encouraging:
Hba1c dropped from 10.9% to 7.45%
Fasting blood sugar (FBS) dropped from 191.75 mg/dL to 111.09 mg/dL
Postprandial blood sugar (PPBS) reduced from 306.59 mg/dL to 232.61 mg/dL (still needs improvement)
Triglycerides (TG) fell from 234 mg/dL to 137 mg/dL
TG/HDL ratio improved from 6 to 3.4
VLDL reduced from 47 mg/dL to 27 mg/dL
Total cholesterol (TC) and LDL remained unaffected despite eating more fats 😊
The best part:
Serum creatinine improved from 3.18 to 3.01
Urea reduced from 75 to 65
BUN dropped from 35 to 30
Uric acid decreased from 8.6 to 6.5
All of this was achieved while eating more protein than before 😊
He is now full of hope for even better results in the future.

Mr Nath - Orissa
Mr Nath following low-carb for >2 years.
Hba1c from 10.7% to 5.8%
Now 73 years old, he has been on a low-carb lifestyle for 2 years.
He is the father of my ex-colleague, who now lives in Europe.
When he first came to me in August 2023, his HbA1c was 10.7%, and his serum creatinine was rising.
With a low-carb plan (including higher protein intake), his health improved significantly — HbA1c dropped to 7.2%, and serum creatinine fell from 1.57 to 0.93 within a year.
Several other parameters also improved.
He was on insulin therapy, and his doctor reduced the dosage as well.
However, during the festival season, he went off track influenced by "well-meaning relatives" who urged him to “enjoy life.”
He binged on carbs and sweets, which spiked his fasting blood sugar to 207 mg/dL and postprandial to 282 mg/dL. Unfortunately, he also developed a severe kidney infection and was hospitalized for a few days. His creatinine rose to 2.17 mg/dL in October 2024.
Determined to regain control, he returned to low-carb nutrition.
His latest HbA1c is now 5.8%, and serum creatinine has improved to 1.65 mg/dL.
Things are getting back to normal, and he’s now committed to never again taking nutrition advice from relatives.
👉 Age is no barrier to adopting low-carb nutrition for type 2 diabetes.

Mrs Pooja - Mumbai
Mrs Pooja to me with Type 2 Diabetes.
Her goal was clear: to normalise her blood sugar before planning a pregnancy.
(Her husband is an ENT Dr)
I put her on a nutrient-dense low-carb plan.
Despite many deviations (thanks to holidays & family functions), in just 3 months:
✅ HbA1c dropped from 7.4 → 6.2
✅ Fasting sugar: 160 → 80.7 mg/dL
✅ Post-meal sugar: 94.4 mg/dL
This is the power of low carb—simple, effective, sustainable.

Mr Abdul - UAE
Reversal of raised Microalbuminurea (MAU)
Mr. Abdul, who initially presented with high microalbuminuria (MAU at 270 mg/g), has shown remarkable improvement after adopting a low-carb, higher-fat and moderate-protein diet.
Despite being cautioned against this approach, he proceeded with determination and even changed his doctor, now under the care of a UK-trained physician who supports this low-carb high high-protein diet.
In just 3 months:
MAU dropped significantly from 270 to 42 mg/g.
Blood pressure improved.
Blood sugar numbers also showed positive trends.
A comprehensive set of tests is planned in about a month to further assess progress.
This is an encouraging trend, and we remain optimistic about normalising the raised MAU soon.

Mrs Anjali M - Mumbai
Mrs. Anjali. was experiencing high blood sugar levels when she contacted me. At the time, she was on minimal medication- Januvia and Metformin.
We began the low-carb plan, and she has been following it diligently. She is meticulous about recording her sugar levels multiple times a day, which gives us a clear picture of her progress.
Her fasting blood sugar (FBS) has dropped significantly—from the 177 down to 118. Her post-breakfast readings have also improved, coming down from the 170s to around 115. Post-meal numbers across the board have shown steady improvement.
Her MD is pleased with the results and has now discontinued Januvia, keeping her only on Metformin.
This is the power of therapeutic carbohydrate restriction (TCR) in Indians too.

Mr Bhavan - Mumbai
Bhavan, my ex-pharma colleague, first approached me in 2021 with an HbA1c of 8.3%.
Knowing that I had achieved diabetes remission, he was inspired to walk the same path. A vegetarian who doesn’t consume eggs at home, Bhavan was determined to make it work. I designed a low-carb plan and he committed fully. He also made consistent efforts to increase physical activity alongside dietary changes.
By April 2022, he had brought his HbA1c down to 5.5% - a clear case of Type 2 Diabetes remission. What’s even more impressive is that he covers the entire West Zone in his job, often spending 15 or more days a month on business travel.
Despite the travel and logistical challenges, he never let his health take a back seat.
Since then, he has never crossed an HbA1c of 6.0%.
His latest report on 6th June 2025 shows an HbA1c of 5.3% - his best so far!
4 years of low-carb nutrition Vegetarian Extensive travel schedule Consistent HbA1c < 6.0% No medications
This is a shining example that long-term low-carb success is possible even for vegetarians and frequent travelers.
Hats off to Bhavan for his discipline and determination. Best wishes to him as he continues this inspiring journey!

Mrs Manisha - Mumbai
Mr. S.M., who has been following me on X for some time, reached out for a consultation.
His wife has Type 2 diabetes and was taking two tablets of metformin daily. He wanted her to get off medication and also lose some weight.
Despite being a regular runner, she had been gaining weight for a while. Her fasting insulin and HOMA-IR were also high, and she had Grade II fatty liver.
I put her on a low-carb nutrition plan
She responded very well. In just 6 months:
1) Her HbA1c dropped from 5.9 to 5.4.
2) Her doctor took her off both metformin tablets.
3) Her fasting insulin levels reduced from 12 to 9.
4) Her insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) improved from 3.8 to 2.1.
5) Her lipid profile showed further improvement.
6) Uric acid levels came down.
7) Liver enzymes normalised.
She lost 7 kgs and 4.5 inches off her waist.
Her energy and running performance significantly improved.
She has now committed to maintaining this lifestyle.

Mr Sanjay B - Bangaluru
Mr. S.B. – From HbA1c of 14 to 7.3 in Just 2 Months Without Meds
Mr. S.B. came to me with a staggering HbA1c of 14% and a strong conviction- he wanted to resolve it through diet alone, without medications.
His history revealed frequent junk food binges, which likely contributed to his Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis.
I placed him on a low-carb plan with a maximum of 100g carbs/day (Anup @dlifein).
To ensure safety, I took a clear commitment from him:
“If your numbers don’t improve within 4–5 days, you’ll consult your doctor to start medication.”
He agreed, and we began the plan.
He responded well right from the start, and we continued with the low-carb approach.
Though there were some dietary deviations during family events, he followed the plan > 80% of the time.
